Don't let the appearance of the map fool you, there are a lot of location markers that are so close they overlap each other when zoomed-out. The push pins symbols represent locations Cézanne visited, and the pallet symbols represent art he created.
The locations were determined from the following:
- The book, Cézanne by Élie Faure.
- The chronology on pages 5 and 6 of the book, Cézanne by Nathalia Brodsaya. The book, "The Tracks and Landfalls of Bering and Chirikof on the Northwest Coast of America."
- Wikipedia's web page on Paul Cézanne.
- Wikipedia's web page List of Paintings by Paul Cézanne.
