For some maps, the route is harder to follow in Google Earth because of the distances involved, and you can see the ruins, forts, villages and ships much better in Google Map. While the Google Earth KML files allow you to digitally walk the map from location marker to location marker and see some of the structures rendered in 3D. The embedded map on each page will enable you to try out both Google Map and Google Earth in order for you to see which is better for you. However, the embedded map is a bit harder to use due to its size limitation and you don;t get to see the legend that is within the Google Map.
